acronis doing multiple backups

Thread needs solution

Hi all.  My Acronis is confused.  I have it set to do incremental backups on Fridays. Now it is doing 3 each Friday -- 1 at 2 AM, 1 at 4 AM, and 1 at 6 AM.  I will tell you how this seems to have started.  About a month ago, Acronis gave me an error that it couldn't find the main monthly backup file.  I can't remember what I did, but got it running again.  Then I had to take my PC to the shop (the screws holding the heat sink broke).  When I got it back, it couldn't find the external hard drive (it appeared to be looking for a different drive letter).  So I pointed it to the correct drive.  So how do I get Acronis back on track to just doing one backup?  Or is it time for me to spring for Acronis 2019?

I would suggest downloading the Acronis Scheduler Manager program (link below) then run this as Administrator which will open a black command prompt type window.

Type the command 'get list' which will then list all scheduled tasks on your system.  Look for any with duplicate long script identifiers where I would expect you to find 3 given your description above.

Follow the instructions in the linked KB document where you downloaded to program for how to select and remove 2 of the duplicate entries, or else if you want to start over with a new schedule for all your backup tasks, just run the command 'task zap' which will clean out all scheduled tasks so that you can then just reset the schedule for your tasks in the main ATI GUI.

I did that (as administrator).  Not sure what I'm looking at (see below).  Reading the instructions, do I have to put the logs in the proper directory first?  If I want to start over (which I do), can I just enter "task zap" without doing anything more?

I would suggest just using 'task zap' to clean out all current scheduled activity then check your tasks shown in the main ATI GUI and reconfigure the schedule for any tasks that need this.
