Acronis has many functions that I do not need.
Folks: A little back story: I found that I could not restore with MS Restore. One site I found suggested Acronis 2012 would do the job; 2012 no longer seems to be available so I bought 2016, which will not restore from MS Backup files (the function has been eliminated). I did find a solution and recovered my system...
Today: Acronis has many functions that I do not need; I have a laptop and an external HDD, the external is bigger than the laptop's drive.
I've created a Rescue Media on a thumb drive.
My plan is to use the "Entire PC" option and subsequently make a couple of copies, of my backup, one to an XP machine that I use for Faxing and another to the Cloud at site I have access to. Will this keep me safe?
Will Acronis make incremental updates If I leave the external attached? Thanks

Next question: Can I have more than one backup on the external drive, If Iselect the "Entire PC" optionWill Arconis give them different names ?

Lloyd,
Yes, you can have more than one backup on the external drive. Personally, I like to put them in different folders on the drive and give the backups different names (don't rely on ATI for the backup name). When backup is to a folder on the USB drive, you have to select "Browse" and not USB drive. If you select USB drive, the backup goes to the root folder and does not give you the option to navigate to any sub folders.
To rename the backup, select the down carat to the right of the file name...see picture below:
