ATI2016 does not recognise Toshiba eMMC drive

Thread needs solution

Hello,

ATi 2016 bootup disk does not recognise/list the Toshiba 032GE4 32GB on my new Toshiba C40 C-10Q laptop. It is therefore unable to make an image of it.

Any plans to support this type of drive?

I'm hoping so too. I have an eMMC drive in an Asus T200. Good news is that if you build WinPE recovery media it works with that. Download the WinADK if you haven't and then select WinPE instead of the default Linux version when you create your media and Acronis will do the rest. That disc will be able to see the drive and you can then backup and/or restore with it.

Thanks for the reply. Er - please talk me through building a USB stick using the Windows ADK. Is it easy? I can cope with most things...! Good to hear that a Windows PE boot "disk" will recognise the Toshiba.

Have now managed to install Win PE ADK together with the Acronis add-on and have therefore backed up the Toshiba eMMC drive as the PE version of the recovery media recognised it. Hooray! Many thanks for your help. Long live Acronis! (Tried Paragon which failed on all the machines I tested it so I hope Acronis take some comfort from that).

Awesome.  Thanks for reporting back how it went!  Yeah, the WinPE isn't tough to use if the default WinPE does the trick.  It only gets complicated if you have to add extra drivers to the WinPE, but that's Windows ADK for you.

This whole process might become "easier" in future versions of ATIH though - I've personally asked for the ability to see if the ADK download and/or driver injection can be a feature inclussion and it sounds like they will try to implement it.  When and/or if this gets added, I have no idea.
