ATIH 2016 trial finds old backups - unwanted behaviour
I have a machine with two partitions of win 8.1 and one of Win 10. I have been using ATIH 2014 on the win 8.1 partitions and I am now trialling ATIH 2016 starting today.
2016 has found all of the 2014 versions which are now cluttering the user interface. There seems no way to have 2016 un-remember these backups except with doing a Delete of the backup. This sounds horribly final. These backups are on a drive which is and always will be available to all partitions. Having these Win 8.1 backups showing up on a Win 10 machine is like having an accident waiting to happen.
With ATIH 2014 I could ask for removal of a backup from the List without actually deleting it from the disk but I haven't found a way to do this yet in 2016.
Is this possible? If not then the trial is over before it gets started.

Ian, thank you for your advice. However, the manual on page 60 shows an option to Remove from list and also Delete on the right click menu. I am only presented with Delete. I am unwilling to take the next step. These backups are part of another system and ATIH on that system will get wet when it finds a file missing.

If you are worried about actualy deleting a backup, try the following. Copy one of the backups to a different direcory. (Do NOT do this within ATI). Then in ATI slect that backup and click on the circle with somethin that looks like an inverted arrow head, this brings up several options, one of which is Delete. Select Delete and you will then be given a choice to either delete the entry or delete both the entry and the backup.
This process was, if I recall correctly, changed in one of the recent ATI 2016 builds and may not be correctly described in the manual.

Ian, thank you for that advice. However, this is a trial to see how useable the product is and so far it fails. Inadequate documentation is just as much part of the product as the executables. I had worked out that I could do what you say but I need my users to have full confidence in the product and its documentation. If the documentation is not up to scratch then its no go.
My trial is still stalled.

The manual was correct when it was published, they made several changes to the interface since then (often in response to suggestions made during beta testing).
At this stage I would not be advisable to deploy ATI in a situation such as yours. I would wait until the remaining major issues are sorted out and an update manual is released. At that stage you could reassess the suitability of ATI 2016.
