Backup failed: File System is too large for a 32-bit version.

Thread needs solution

The machine Acronis is running on is Windows 10, 64bit OS, i7-4970k 4.00GHz. The boot drive is a 1TB SSD formatted for NTFS. The SSD boot drive is the only drive I want Acronis to backup.

There are a number of other drives, one internal and the others connected via USB 3.0 to the machine - these are excluded from the backup. One of these drives is a Storage Space using RefS file system. These drives are not part of the backup - all these drives are excluded.

The backup fails with the message "File System is too large for a 32-bit version.".

How do I workaround this limitation in Acronis?

Thanks

Dalevine, welcome to these user forums.

What type of backup are you actually doing here?  Is this an Entire PC or are you using Disks & Partititions?

I would recommend using Disks & Partitions and then ensuring that you only select the 1TB SSD Boot drive with all its own partitions.  There should be no need to exclude any other drives when only selecting the one in this backup mode.

Download the MVP Log Viewer (link below) and use this to check what messages are being given in the backup task log.

That worked, thanks. Problem solved.

Glad to hear the suggestion worked, thanks for feeding back.
