Can someone please explain what happened?
Hi,
I run weekly back-ups of my entire C drive and all has been fine. My last backup also ran to completion but did a couple weird things, it ran 2 1/2 hrs when it normally finished in 1 hour or less and it created version "D:\Acronis Backups\Entire PC (STEVEPC)_full_b25_s1_v1-2_039BCD7A-996D-43C8-A8E4-A2BDC07B916A.tib", it never did that before?
Here is a screenshot of my D drive
Here is the backup run, the only thing that changed is my system got the Win 10 creators update last week

Hi Steve,
Thank you for the response. My D drive is a USB connectd WD 1TB drive. It has a power supply and is connected to a USB 2 port on my computer (I also have USB 3.0 ports as well). I have zero idea if with the drive itself is 2 or 3 but it's always been connected this way to a 2.0 usb port. I'll run the CHKDSK's you mentioned and see what happens.
I still don't understand why I got the D:\Acronis Backups\Entire PC (STEVEPC)_full_b25_s1_v1-2_039BCD7A-996D-43C8-A8E4-A2BDC07B916A.tib instead of the b26 I was expecting

I could be due to a failed/interrrupred incremental backup.

Hi,
I only run full back-ups one time a week.
Steve,
I ran both of the CHKDSK's and no errors were found with either.

Steve, was there anything in the log for the previous (first) b25 backup that gave rise to the -2 one?

Steve, thanks for the log file - it just shows all normal operation as expected so we are no further forward for why the following file took the same b25 sequence number and then wanted to try to delete the same b20 file that the last backup had already deleted!
I can only suggest that you run a Validation for the backup task that created the backups and see if that throws up any more clues?

Hi Steve,
OK, took me a while to find Validation, I originally set up Acronis 2016 to keep 15 weekly FULL back-ups. Then I deleted that back-up scheme because it was way too many versions for me and deleted all the back-ups as well and started a brand new scheme to keep only 5 versions.
So long story short, my one backup scheme has been running for 25 weeks with no problems, only get an email on how the back-up finished and I just ran a validate at your suggestion, it ran for about 30 minutes it said and told me nothing (which I assume is good).
I'll wait until next Sunday and see how things go, hopefully this "glitch" was something temporary.
As I stated in my first post, I did update Win 10 to Creators between last update and this weeks update. I also performed a Disk Cleanup of system files under windows to remove windows.old after the upgrade.
Thank You again for looking into this with me, much appreciated!
Steve

Looks like everything is normal
Here is a screenshot of my D drive after the run
Guess we can close this one as unknown....

Steve, glad to hear that all seems to be OK again after the 'glitch' - hope it stays that way for you!
