Cannot create a database

Thread needs solution

When I click on the Acronis True Image 2016 shortcut I now get a simple message saying'Cannot create a database' and the only reply option is 'OK'.

I have used this software often over the past year or so without any trouble. I am on W7.

William, has anything changed with regard to ATIH 2016 since this was last working?  Have you installed any updates for example, build 6571?

If not, then the chances are that your Database folder has become corrupted for some reason.

Try doing the following: 

Stop all Acronis Services and Processes - you will need to use the Windows Task Manager to stop the Acronis processes but best to stop the Services first.  For the services, type Services at the W7 run prompt, then choose Services.msc from the list produced.  Right-click on each Acronis service and take the option to Stop it.

Next, navigate to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\ and rename the Database folder to Database.OLD.

Launch Acronis True Image and hopefully all will be OK again and Acronis will create a new Database folder and files.
