Cannot move license to a new computer

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to move an ATI2016 license from one computer to another. I've installed ATI2016 on the target computer.  I get the message "You've exceeded the maximum number of activations". When I open Acronis, I get the "Too many activations" dialog and I select "I have installed Acronis True Image on a new computer." This brings up the "Acronis True Image activation on a new computer" dialog. I select "Move license from another computer." Note that up to this point images for all these screens are here: https://kb.acronis.com/ati2016/moveactivation

After making the selction, I am presented with an account login dialog, but everything is grayed out and I cannot enter ID, password, or even close the dialog. I have to close the ATI form completely, but of course the license update is not accomplished. I've done this a few times now and I always get the same result. How can I get past this problem and actually get this license moved?

Michael, sorry to hear you are having these activation issues with moving your license.  You will need to open a Support Case with Acronis Support for this issue as only they can help resolve this type of problem and confirm your account details etc.

Bizarrely, I've stopped getting the "Too many activations" message even though I tried that multiple times and all screen inputs were grayed out on the login screen, as I mentioned. Maybe it "took" anyway. Acronis is a great tool I've been using on all office computers since 2011, but I've long thought the human interface left a lot to be desired, certainly when recovering/restoring, and on the ATI interface as well since ATI 2016. Oh well. Thanks for helping out.

btw - speaking of human interfaces, this forum also leaves a lot to be desired. When I search the ATI2016 forum, sorted by date created, the most recent entry is November, 2016, which is clearly wrong since I've posted several myself in the past week or so. Also, do you know if there is a way to search for *my* posts? The main way I seem to find mine is when someone replies and I get a link the the reply message.

I don't know any place I can report these forum "issues".

Michael, thanks for the feedback / update.  Hope continues to work OK for you now the activation issue has gone away!

wow, you were right on the instant replying to my message. I added an update, not actually related but I thought you could advise:

Michael, there are a number of known issues with the forums, including limited search capabilities which Acronis are in the process of working on by wanting to introduce a new forum system / software but this looks to be some way off before being fit to be release on the general public.

To search just your posts, click on your own name which will take you to your user account, where you will see sections for posts you have created and posts you have commented on, which is filtered just for your account.

I have to say that I use Google as much as trying to search within the forums as it gives quite a few forum hits depending on how good your search argument is.
