Can't open old backups with latest version

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Almost two years ago, I created a backup using a trial of Acronis True Image 2014. Since then, I finally decided to go ahead and buy the software (current Acronis True Image 2016). I still had my old backup stored so I wanted to add it to the backup list, however, when I navigate to the folder where it was saved, it shows nothing. (I can see the files in the Windows File Explorer)

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Hello Juan,

According to KB document: 1689: Backup Archive Compatibility Across Different Product Versions ATIH 2016 is compatible with any images created by ATIH 2014.

What happens if you take the option in Windows Explorer to open the image, i.e. double-click on the image name in Explorer?

Does the image have the correct .TIB file extension?

Apparently not, which is strange. I see a folder named "Backup_HDD0_20150120_1423". Inside it there are 2 folders for my incremental backups named "inc_1_0_1" and "inc_2_1_2"

Inside all these folders there are a bunch of files with extensions .p01, .p02, etc.; .pvhd; .pbe; and .pfi

No files with extension .TIB

Thanks

Juan, the old backup files look to be from Paragon Backup & Recovery and not from Acronis True Image.

Geez,

You are right. I just realized I have 2 sets of backups from when I was testing both softwares back then. I found my backup I did with Acronis, I just mixed them up. Sorry for wasting your time.
