How do I disable cloud login permanently
I have no wish to use the Acronis Cloud and therefore have no need to login to my Acronis account when starting the product. How can I stop the login box appearing every time I start ATIH 2016?
There is no need to login to use the product to do local backups so why this incessant requirement to log in?
There needs to be an option if not already present (I can't find it) to disable this feature.

I upgraded from Acronis 2015 to 2016 today and ran into the same issue. It prompted me to login to my acronis account each time. Finally I did log in and it started a 30 day cloud trial which I do not want! I contacted Acronis support and they said the login is a "feature". There needs to be a way to disable the account login and prevent the dialog from being displayed each time the software starts. The only other workaround I discovered is that after I login the first time I can block acronis using windows firewall to prevent any information being sent to Acronis servers. I may end up asking for a refund and using 2015 instead.

As Andros pointed out there are 2 versions of the app. One with Cloud and one without. If you purchased the Cloud version and do not wish that feature you should contact support and arrange for exchange to the non cloud version.

I checked with Acronis support. I did not purchase the version with the cloud. However, every time I started the software it prompted me to login. As soon as I logged in it automatically enabled a 30 day of Acronis True Image cloud which I do not want. I've asked customer service to either cancel my trial or refund me for the upgrade. My requirement is that my backup software run locally only. The cloud trial uploads informations about my backups even if I configure a local backup which is a privacy concern for me.
From Acronis Support:
Its the correct product. The cloud is a trial for 30-days. You may or may not use it. If you do not want to use it you may log out from the cloud and close the window which asks you to login to cloud and proceed with using the product for creating local backups.

Acronis seems to have trouble understanding their customers. Some of their decisions are a bit boneheaded. I'm using 2014 Premium, which works here with win 7, 8 and 10. I generally wait on upgrades until I know that the latest version is worth buying. There's no way I would upload my images to any cloud, let alone Acronis cloud. I just don't trust them to reliably serve my interests over their own, nor do I trust their decisions in all matters.
Also, whenever I install Acronis (I have several registered copies for several machines.), my routine is:
1. In services, turn off non-stop backup, OS selector and sync agent service
2. Use the free version of Windows 10 Firewall Control (works in conjunction with Windows Firewall and allows you to monitor and block outgoing events. Also works with vista, win 7, 8 and 10) to block all Acronis outgoing events (after I allow it to activate, of course).
I've been using ATI and DD since 2004 or so and found that the above methods save me from dumping an otherwise very decent tool. I also own and consistently use another well known imaging program to make sure the bases are covered.

I've searched for a statement from Acronis about bypassing cloud logins but have not seen an answer.
Q: Will Acronis TI Home 2016 be modified to make the cloud sign in dialog box optional?
More background on use models and describing cloud as a "feature" doesn't get to the answer. I, along with many others, do not want to use the cloud. Local storage is the usage model. Will there be a setting to disable all cloud offers/sign-ins/reminders?
Asking me to "close the box before using the software" isn't answering the question.
Thank you.

Hi Scott and All,
The Login, I consider it to be a built-in advertisement, I simply X is out and continue. And I use the Windows Firewall or McAfee / Intel Security to Lockdown the Computer, so nothing can come in or out of the computer during the partition image creation and after restoring the partition image.
I don't log in.
There are no options to turn it off.
I also returned the product, because I add Comments / A Description when creating the partition image and when choosing to select an image to restore, can't view the comments or descriptions to see what the image contains.

I have seen a plethora of requests from paying users. This popup is NOT related to which version you have purchased. Regardless of version, with TI 2016 Home (no cloud) this box pops up each and every time and there is NO WAY to disable it.
Why won't Acronis listen to its paying users and allow them to disable this prompt?

I ended up requesting a refund for my upgrade to Acronis 2016. I also ended up purchasing a different backup solution from a competitor. On a positive note Acronis support was great and the refund was painless. In case anyone from Acronis reads these posts here are the main reasons why I ended up switching to a competitor after having been a loyal Acronis user for several years:
1. Acronis 2016 would not let me skip the login dialog. I can close the dialog and the software works fine. However, it's a usability issue since 2015 did not require this.
2. After logging in Acronis 2016 automatically started a cloud trial which customer service was unable to cancel. It also uploaded information about my local backups to Acronis servers which is a privacy concern for me. I want a backup solution which is local only. The only time I want the backup software talking to Acronis servers is for initial activation.
3. I received a marketing email from Acronis stating that Acronis 2016 was up to 50% faster at backing up and restoring than Acronis 2015. I ran a test with Acronis 2015 and 2016 with the exact same settings on the same PC. For a 120 GB full system image Acronis 2015 was actually faster (6:08 for 2015 and 7:00 for 2016)!
4. Even the previous version, Acronis 2015 would occasionally nag me to upgrade or to try cloud functionality. I couldn't see any way to disable these popups in the software.

Obviously, this is a marketing ploy that Acronis somehow believes will produce revenue. This is one of those 'boneheaded' decisions I mentioned earlier. They don't seem to possess the common sense to understand that such strategies lose business more often than it gains revenues. That issue alone is enough to keep me from upgrading until (if) they fix it in a new build. As for Acronis reading your post, I suppose there's a slim chance. But they don't spend a lot of time in these forums, and even if they did see it, my experience with such matters is that they will see it as a "feature".
For others who plan to stick with it, you may be able to determine what process the cloud nag belongs to and shut it off using Process Explorer. There is an icon (looks a bit like crosshairs) that you can drag and drop on the window and it will identify the process and the file's location on your HD, possibly allowing you to rename the file so that it stops appearing.

I was looking to buy the Acronis True Image 2016, but that login is annoying me too!
Besides that, I have several options on the left menu that I can't use and don't want!
Why "Archive files and folders", "Dashboard", "Sync" are there if I can't use them!?
I'm using the trial version right now...
Seems a good program, but this interface really sucks.
The 2014 or 2015 version is cleaner? (I'm looking for W10 compatibility)
It's possible to acquire it yet? Please let me know!
PS: I found it, only 2015 or + is compatible https://kb.acronis.com/content/56196
Thanks!

Hi Rafael Cossovan,
While Acronis True Image 2014, will run and install in Windows 10, Acronis no longer supports that version.
Whoever at Acronis designed Acronis True Image 2015, made a very bad choice, not to include the ability to view the Descriptions / Comments for the existing images from the operating system. Simply because a few Users don't need or use the Descriptions or Comments of the images in existing builts, does not mean that others don't.
And Acronis True Image 2016 is only a Bug Fix version of Acronis True Image 2015. Nothing has really changed, except to fix Bugs.
Acronis should survey its Users, before adds New Features. If the Cloud would not be available when you need it, why back up to the Cloud, in the first place. This has happened to Users of the cloud, already. Information on the Cloud is available to be stolen, without the User ever knowing that it was stolen.
D-Limk, NetGear, Linksys and others have Personal Cloud Devices already which can be purchased and use.

Hi! Thanks for the answer...
I don't like the whole "cloud thing" at all!
Now True Image (trial) is throwing me some weird bugs, like:
* Can't use the nonstop schedule, it never starts.
* Can't remove an previous backup configuration from the list.
* Take 30 seconds to open the "options" from a backup configuration.
So I think my only option is look for an alternative software.
I was testing another one a few moments ago, but it can't exclude certain folders from a system backup (which is bad for me).

From the lack of developer concern for user interest you all have stated, I'm dumping this Acronis 16 and get a refund!

I've been using Acronis for years; however this obsession with cloud is trobling. The other fustration is that Acronis support people don't seem to be responding with solutions in this forum
It is ironice that Acronis fell from grace; being one of the leaders now turned into one of the many - Cloud worshipers. That's a poor strategic decision.
I nearly dumpted Acronis, until I figured out that if you close the sign-in pop up - make sure you close the sign-in pop-up not the actual application - Acronis will proceed as a local application. If you have reg key, just enter it and you'll be on your way.
Thanks Acronis for good few years - blast from the past :D

Hi Igor,
Acronis is not forcing the cloud on anyone. As you realized, you just have to click past the window (although each time it launches), or log in with your accoutn information and the prompts will go away.
However, they do want people to use it as it's a product/service they offer and are looking to the future for Cloud services (something Microsoft failed to do long ago and nearly crippled them until Windows 10 saved the day, but you'll notice they are even heavily pushing one drive and cloud Office). Adobe is doing this too - it's something a lot of software applications are migrating too. If you use it, Acronis currently offers unlimited cloud storage which is a huge bonus. If don't use it, there's nothing preventing you from not doing so.
That said, for now, you do have to click past that one window each time or login with your account credentials. This has been brought up in the forum several times. It is my understanding that the next release of Acronis (not sure if that means the update for 2016 or the newer 2017 release later this year), will provide more options to change the behavior of notifications and the cloud prompt, but we'll have to wait and see.
FYI, this is a user forum - not an Acronis support forum. Most of the response is from Acronis users like me and yourself. From time to time, support engineers do enter and respond, but don't count on it. That is why they set up the MVP program though so we can help funnel this type of feedback more quickly and we do, do that.
In the meantime, please submit your own feedback through your online account and/or through the Acronis appliation - that is the best way to get your messages heard by Acronis.

Looking @ acronis 2017 for upgrade, however I would like to know if the cloud popup issue was fixed...
- Accedi per poter commentare
It is on the Acronis True Image 2017.
You should try the trial first, just in case.
PS: The ATI 2016 never got an update to fix this. So buy it AS IS, WITH ALL FAULTS (they probably will never fix it)

Hi @ Alan massie ,
Buy the version of Acronis True Image 2017 without Cloud Access. You will not have to log in, each and every time.
You want the one for Local Access: http://www.acronis.com/en-us/personal/buy-backup/
It never expires.
