How to upgrade 2016 to the recently udated version?

Thread needs solution

I have a perpetual licence, and, as far as I can tell, I am eligible to download updates.

If that is correct, from where can I download it?

Additionally, the information regarding the number of machines on which it mat be installed is ambiguous.  On how many machines may I install it?

I have two; Windows 7, and Windows 10.

Syncopator, any eligible downloads can be found in your Acronis account on the downloads page for your version of software, i.e. 2016.  You should also see any upgrades shown on the Account page of the ATI 2016 GUI where you will also see information showing what your current 2016 build number is.  The latest is build # 6595 which is also the final build produced for ATI 2016.

You perpetual licence is only valid for upgrades within the same version, so it does not entitle you to upgrade to say 2017 or 2018 versions.

Thank you Steve.

What benefit/s does the 2018 version have over the 2016 one?

I am wondering if I should upgrade.

Please see topic: Acronis True Image 2018 released! which gives a good summary of new features found in 2018.

See also topic: Why upgrade to 2018 where another user asked a similar question.

One of the key new features is the inclusion of Acronis Active Protection in all versions of 2018 versus having this only in the Premium 2017 New Generation version - this provides Anti-Ransomware protection primarily to prevent any attacks on your Acronis .TIB backup files but which will attempt to protect any files on the system based on behaviour recognition.

Another key feature is the move from using Linux based rescue media to defaulting to using Windows PE / RE media, and also the ability to use Microsoft VSS (snapshot) for cloning from within Windows without the need to reboot.

Thank you again Steve.

I think that for the moment, rather than shell out £35, I will continue with the 2016 version.

Regards.
