PC shutdown caused by Acronis

Thread needs solution

My 2 computers (one Win 7 and one Win 8.1) have recently started carrying out some Acronis activity (for approx 2 minutes the note says) every time they are shut down.

What is happening and can it be stopped – it is very annoying to have to sit there waiting for it to close the PC so we can switch off the power supply to the PC?

Hi Andy, I have noticed something similar on one of my systems where I get a message when shutting down that it is waiting on an Acronis task - I know that I have no scheduled backups running so I just go ahead and let the system shutdown and have had no ill effects.

I get the same problem - intermittently - however, the computer does not shut down.

Following message is displayed (forever!):

ATI is terminating the current operation please wait.

The computer will be turned off in about 2 mins

Folks, you may want to take a look at the following post which has been reporting this issue for a long time!

Hello all,

Normally the message Acronis True Image is terminating the current operations, please wait only appears if there are still some running main tasks (scheduled backup or validation). Under the normal circumstances, Acronis prevents the system from the shutdown to complete these operations and avoid data corruption. Please first of all check if the following tasks are configured:

If you are sure that there are no scheduled tasks, which could be executed at the system shutdown, could you please provide us with the following information:

If possible, please open a support ticket.

Thank you!
