Problem Recovering File Folder Image Created with TIH2014

Hello All,
I seem to have a problem recovering a file folder image made (today) from TIH2014.
TIH2016 does not see the latest inc. image. It does see earlier images.
Details:
File folder image was created with Windows8.1/TIH2014 and STORED on a separate internal sata backup storage drive.
Process:
The internal Windows 8.1 disk was removed (hot swap tray) after the backup was completed (today).
Windows 10 with TIH2016 inserted and computer booted.
TIH2016 started.
TIH2016 does see the file image name, however, the date reported as last backup is 08/30/15 when , in fact, an incremental was created an hour earlier.
Attempted to add the file backup image just created with TIH2014
TIH2016 does not see the latest image, however, it does see the original full image created on 08/30/15. It does not see the incremental created today (09/03/15)
I deleted (delete settings only) for the file image I wanted to restore and attempted to add the image back by using the TIH1016 Add by browsing feature... No luck, Still cannot see the image just created hours earlier
Is there a compatibility issue here ? Something I am missing ?
Any ideas or suggestions ?
Steve

Enchantech,
Thanks for the reply.
I created an inc. addition to an existing backup image using Windows 8.1/64 with TIH2014.
I then removed the Win8.1 disk, inserted the Win10 disk and booted.
I attempted to recover the backup image using Win10/TIH2016.
I could see the Original Image and 2 INC images but did not see the inc image created only 30 minutes before as noted above.
When realizing that I could not see the inc I was looking for, I looked at other backup images and realized that a some of them also did not show some of the images made earlier that day. I could only see the images/incs made the day before.
This did not make any sense to me so I shut down, reloaded the Win8 disk, rebooted and looked at the backup drive using the Win8/win explorer. Sure enough, everything was there. It just didn't make any sense that some file showed up and some didn't when using TIH2016 with Win10.
Rebooted with the Win10 disk:
Assuming it was a rights problem, I "messed" with the properties/security on the backup storage drive and created a disaster for myself. Now I cannot gain access to the drive with Win8 disk or Win10. Cannot seem to gain control with the normal windows disk security options or the "takeown" command prompt... Eventually, we will figure this out but for now, my whole purpose in life is to gain total access to my backup storage drive under win 8 or win10.
Big Sigh...

What kind of error message are you getting when you try to access the drive?

Hello Enchantech,
1> H:\ Is not accessible Access Denied...
and I cannot take ownership with properties/security (add owner), takeown run under admin... very perplexing....
Under the drive properties, security: when I look at permissions, there is no owner, none...will not let me add one, signed in as an admin and also tested signing in as administrator.I get:
"Program cannot open required dialog becasue it cannot determine whether the computer named "ADVirtualDisk" is joined to a domain. Clicking apply or next I see: "Unable to display the user selection dialog. The RPC Server is inaccessible. It is running in task manager.
I have spent way too much time with this... but would like to discover my mistake and find a resolution.... BUT...
I am going to move the drive out of the case, put it in an external docking box and see if I can move some files off...
If that is successful, I will jsut reformat the darn thing and start over...
I AM able to see the drive and recover images if I boot to the recovery disk.
I just tested a Win8.1 recovery to a test disk. Everything worked.
I just cannot get to it with win explorer in win8 or win 10.... What a mess...

In Explorer can you see the drive? Sounds like you can but just cannot access it. As viewed in Explorer does it show any details of the drive such as total capacity?
You could try enabling the default Windows admin account, then logon to that account which should allow access as that account (known as system) owns everything. To do so follow this:
Right click my computer > manage > local users and groups > right click on administrator > permissions > uncheck disable this account.
Log off and then log in to administrator account
This account has full control over the system.
There should not be a password for this account unless somehow there was one setup by you at some point.

Enchantech,
I feel rather stupid today.... The drive access problem is solved.
The backup drive was Labeled with a drive letter (H:) and Named so that I would always be able to recognize it.
Access Denied Solution:
I feel so dumb today....
I simply "Removed" the Drive Letter and Name.
Leaving it with NO assigned drive letter.
Rebooted.
Found the drive which now had a "F:" assigned.
Opened security for the drive
Assigned the owner (me), let the system apply ownership to all files and folders.
Assigned the letter "H:" again
Rebooted
and... All is well, access is NO LONGER denied.
Now I can get back to testing recovery of file folders created under tih2014 with the new TIH2016 on a Win10 disk.
What a mess this was...and such a simple solution.
Makes one feel really dumbed out...ha
