Recover TI2011 backup on UEFI

Thread needs solution

I had bought but not installed TI2016 on my Windows 7 system. My PC motherboard failed and I will have to replace it with a motherboard with UEFI instead of BIOS. Is there ony way to recover my TI2011 backup  somehow using TI 2016? Is there ANY way to do this? I alaways felt safe that I had a backup but never accounted for this. I never suspected that the Bootale TI2011 wouldn't just boot as before.

Feeling desperate for any help. Apparently I can't even get paid support for thsi issue.

Oliver, unfortunately ATIH 2011 has no support for UEFI systems as documented in KB document: 24878: Acronis True Image Home 2011: "System or Boot partition is located on dynamic or GPT disk" Error Message which has the following statement in the Solution section:

For dynamic/GPT disks support, please see Acronis True Image Home 2012: GPT & UEFI Support.

The other problem here is that officially ATIH 2016 does not provide backward compatibility with your 2011 archives as documents in KB document: 1689: Backup Archive Compatibility Across Different Product Versions which shows:

Acronis True Image 2016, Acronis True Image Cloud (Release 2016)
on Windows

backups of Windows computers created with:
Acronis True Image 2016, Acronis True Image Cloud (Release 2016)
Acronis True Image 2015
Acronis True Image 2014
True Image 2013 by Acronis

You may find that ATIH 2016 will allow you to mount or explore the 2011 archive but this is not guaranteed.

Some motherboards allow for backward compatibility with standard Legacy BIOS.  They provide for different boot scenarios such as UEFI only, UEFI/Legacy CSM UEFI first, Legacy CSM only, USFI/Legacy CSM Legacy first.

Not all motherboards provide this capability so you need to do some checking before you purchase.
