Run at System Startup - Delay Does Not Work
I backup to a Synology NAS on my network. I have my backups to not wakeup my system if it is sleeping/hybernating. I have set my backups to run at system startup with a 4 minute delay. As soon as I bring my system out of sleep the backup attempts to run and takes an error because the NAS is not yet available. After the delay that I have set (this is another option setting, not the one that does not work) the backup tries again and then works fine.
Does this work for anyone or is it just me? This worked fine using TI 2014.

I have been informed by Acronis technical support that the delay only works when restarting the system not when the system comes out of sleep. Another useless Acronis "feature" that really does not provide the required functionality.

One option you might try would be to use the backup option/advanced/"pre/post commands"
and use a batch file in the pre command to create a delay before the backup portion of the task begins.

YOu may also use the backup option/advanced/"error handling" option to manage how many times and frequency the error retries.

Are you using any other option in the scheduler setting "if missed" category?

Have you tried disabling the power management features of your network interface? By default Windows enables the option to allow the network NIC to be shutdown during none use to save power. If you turn off that feature then when Windows enters sleep mode the network connection/session should be maintained. This should allow for the delay feature to work as the connection would remain constant.
You can turn off the poser saving feature for you network NIC in Device Manager, expand the Network Adapters, select your NIC, right click and select properties, click the power management tab.

First I want to express my gratitude to the Acronis MVP's for all of their assistance and support! My decision is no reflection on them.
After 3 weeks and many hours of effort I still did not have a working boot drive. Therefore, I decided to move on and have found another product to use. Since this is an Acronis supported forum I will not name the product (anyone interested can send me a private message and I will be happy to share). Literally 15 minutes after installing this product I had a fully functional WinPE based boot drive. It was very easy and required no extra commands, downloads, research, etc.. Clearly it can be done. The inability of TI 2016 to easily create a working boot drive was not the only deciding factor. I had "upgraded" from TI 2014 to TI 2016 and the removal of the following functionality was also a key component of my decision:
- Inability to delete previous backups from within the program
- No log viewer
- Inability to disable login request at each start-up
- No time line view of backups
There were other minor issues/annoyances but those are the big ones. The key though is the inability/difficulty in creating a working boot drive. Without that the program is essentially useless.
Thanks again to all who have provided assistance. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
