Save backup file to any but TIB

Thread needs solution

Hi everyone,
Anyone know if (and how) a file backup can be saved to anything but the TIB format (e.g. Zip) using True Image 2016?

Much appreciated

The ability to save a backup file to .zip was discontinued several version ago. It was deemed a low usage feature and support was dropped.

For reasons of simplicity, cross platform ease and across device use, I hope Acronis brings this functionality back. Proprietary formats (only) are questionable.

I can't recall a version of True Image in which saving as a .zip actually functioned. Trying to open a .zip file created with True Image 2014 resulted in an error message stating that the file was either corrupt or not a zip file. It was determined that True Image was only creating a tib file with a .zip extension.

I also recall the same as Joey states. Doesn't do one much good given this fact.

#BS#, for example, with only one licence on the home computer, it would be desirable to access backups on the HDD when on the road (the mobile PC cannot read TIB files). The mobile PC does not have the licence, and even if I bought it, the simplified restore, such as offered by Genie Timeline or ZIP files, would be usefu lfor the underpowered mobile PC.

Thxs Joey,
That (non functioning ZIP files) is questionable. As I have stated, portability should be a requirement for any backup product and TIB is simply not portable.
