True Image 2016 Not Accepting my True Image 2012 Home Serial Number

I have a valid purchased version of True Image Home 2012 and purchased a 5 license version of 2016.

I downloaded the trial version from the website and entered my new serial and it asked for a previous serial#.

I keyed my 2012 serial number in and it messed up the format after about the end of the second set of numbers entered??

Can anyone help with this issue??

I think I may have found the issue with this.

I logged into my Acronis account first then tried entering the serial number.

After it was partially entered the "Activate" button lit up so I clicked it and it did activate the local copy.

Really seemed kind of odd how this eventually worked for me.

This might be of help to someone else experiencing similar issue.
