This issue might be different from Robert's issue, but when I take my laptop on the road and don't have access to my backup device (14TB NAS), I get the same error over and over and over. I've setup email notification for the job and receive the same error message. If a job doesn't start within a certain timeout, then the job should cancel or skip until the next scheduled backup. All other backup products work that way. Why not ATI?

Hi Gio,
Acronis employees don't frequent this forum very much, so you are better offer sharing your feedback through the feedback link in the app.
Nevertheless, I agree this would be great if Acronis behaved as you desccribed.

Pat,
Thanks for the update. I will try reaching out to them though the feedback link. I know they offer "pay for support", but I'm not paying for support for bugs or deficiencies in their product.

I have added this as a feature request in the MVP forums to be considered by the Acronis engineers and developers for implementation. I don't know if it will make the next update or not; however, the new General Manager, Gaidar, is very interested in the feedback from the MVP program and working to get a lot of these types of requests added as quickly as possible. Submitting feedback through the Acronis app is definitely the way to go but he's active in the forum as well and responds to PM's too.

Hello Everyone,
The issue has been reported to QA team. Our testers will attempt to reproduce it on our side.
By default the program makes 5 reattempts every 30 seconds if anything went wrong and backup could not be created successfully. This includes cases when NAS is not available. You should see no more than 5 "Operation has failed" messages per backup task. You can disable these reattempts under advanced backup settings tab. See attached picture.
Another possible cause of constant "Operation has failed" messages is missing file with backup job description at C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts, while Acronis Scheduler service is set to run that backup task regularly. As backup details cannot be found (file is missing), operation fails and you see the error message. See workaround for this issue at https://forum.acronis.com/forum/56776#comment-336063
