try&decide causes windows 10 bootup failure

Thread needs solution

os: win 10 pro x64 with latest update

partitions type: MBR

protection partition: C

storage for virtual change: E  (C and E are from different SSD drives)

acronis true image edition: 2016

I am glad that version 2016 has brought back the TND. I do realize that TND feature could sometimes be very dangerous and cause damge to the OS.

That is what I encountered: after initaiting TND, then choose to "reboot to discard change" in windows, after reboot, blue screen showed up as in the picture. I tried to fixed it by: 1. using windows 10 install media to auto repair; 2. rebuild MBR ; 3. recover the MBR from the backup image. None of these worked and the same blue screen still showed up after reboot.  Eventually, I have to recover the system using a backup image.

TND usually works, this blue screen situation is not common to me (has happend twice so far), in case it happens again, what should i do to put the
os back to normal rather than reinstall the os or recover it with a backup image?

Hello, jackson

BSOD 0E means that one of devices is inaccessible (e.g. it has a bad connection).

Were any devices attached/detached while running TND?

If the issue occurs again, try to unplug all external devices and restart the PC.

Best regards.
