Trying to image Surface Pro 4
I have an external DVD Drive, an external hard drive, and external keyboard and mouse connected to my Surface Pro 4 via a Sabrent 4 port 3.0 Hub. I've disabled Secure Boot and changed UEFI to boot from a USB drive. I'm also using the latest version of TI 2016 so it sees the internal hard drive.
It boots fine, and I selected all 3 partitions on the internal hard drive, but when I go to the next step I get the warning "Unable to back up a locked volume encrypted with BitLocker. Unlock the volume or turn off BitLocker, and then try again." Has anyone done this? Is it sufficient to turn off BitLocker, or does the drive have to be unencrypted also. I've seen some horror stories about BitLocker and Surface Pro 4 so don't want to back myself into a corner.
Edit - Just looked at BitLocker via control panel and it shows "BitLocker waiting for activiation." ???
Thanks,
Joe

Thanks Steve, I ended up removing BitLocker (didn't have any need for it anyhow) and am currently imaging the drive. Moving slowly, but I read that others have reported that it takes a while for some reason.
Thanks,
Joe

Steve, now I'm having problems with Acronis locking up. The first time the backup was about 10% done; the second time it was almost 50% done. Mouse is locked up; only way out is to hold down power button and restart. My guess is that it's related to the USB hub.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Joe

Joe, I would tend to agree about the USB hub - is it a powered hub or just drawing power through the USB cable? If the latter, then I would recommend using a powered hub.

Steve, it's a powered hub. I'm going to try a different external drive and see what that does.
