Unable to open Acronis 2016 on the Mac
I downloaded the AcronisTrueImage_2016.dmg file, then installed the software. When i double click the icon to open the application I get the attached prompt saying 'Acronis quit unexpectedly'. Any thoughts why this is happening?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I am running Sierra. I bought several licenses for the 2016 version of acronis thinking that I'd be able to use them in the future as I purchase more devices. I recently bought my mac and wanted to back it up. Is there anyway to update my current package so that it will work on my new mac?

I'd suggest contacting Acronis tech support via chat and reaching out by selecting the "customer support" option. Not sure how many licenses you purchased and/or how long ago, but perhaps they can help out with an upgrade or a discount. You have to consider that 2016 builds ended a little over a year ago and Sierra was just released. Apple is notorious for making simple changes with major effects (for instance enabling SIP in El Capitan was a major change - although good for security). Backup programs are often very integrated into the OS so that they are capable of backing up system files/folders and files that are actively open so I wouldn't bank on compatibility witih Mac's beyond one year since Apple releases a new OS each year. In some cases, you might get lucky, but others, probably not.
