Upgrade from build 6027 to 6569

Thread needs solution

When I try to perform an upgrade from True IMage 2016 build 6027 to build 6569 the upgrade fails. The error reported is simply

Installation has failed. Fatal error during installation

I can't find any logs  to indicate the cause but if I try to uninstall the product first I get an error stating "No True Image components found" which is rather odd as it's working perfectly!

Currently running on Windows 10 Pro x64

Any sugesstions would be appreciated.

There have been several reported issues with installing the update to B6569. Use the cleanup tool https://kb.acronis.com/content/48668 to remove the current installation. Download a fresh copy of B6569 fro your Acronis account and install using that copy of the installer.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the reply. I found the cleanup tool shortly after posting (typically!). That seems to have worked and I've installed the latest build successfully.

It's a pity there is no option to retain backup settings though but it's no big deal to setup again.

Thanks again.

Al.

In the future, you can try saving the files in the hidden folder

C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts

After your cleanup and fresh install, verify it boots and loads Acronis and there are no existing backup tasks.  Then shutdown the Acronis services from computer managment >>> services.

Copy your scripts back in, start services and launch Acronis.  You should see your tasks now.  Unfortunately, they will still start backups from scratch again and you still have to set your "default" settings too, but saves a little time.
