Want to move selected files from one destination disc to another

Thread needs solution

My backup destination disc is almost full. In order to to increase backup space I want to move selected files in the destination drive to a second backup disc and then delete these files on the first disc. How to do this?

Stan, welcome to these User Forums.

If your backup drive is running out of space, then you should only be attempting to move complete version chains of backup files, not selected individual files unless all your backups are Full backup files only.

A version chain comprises of an initial Full backup accompanied by any Incremental or Differential backup files with the same _b?_ backup sequence indicator in the file name, i.e.

Backup_full_b1_s1_v1
Backup_inc_b1_s2_v1
Backup_inc_b1_s3_v1  etc

After moving such version chain files to another drive, then you should run a Validation for the backup task that created these files. This will cause an error message to be presented for each moved file, you can then either use the Browse option to point to the new location, or else use the Ignore option to bypass the error, and this will update the Acronis Database files to show the new status of the backup files.
