Acronis True Image & Full Backp of Windows Server 2012
Hi,
for sure there is qucik and simply answer for my question but with whole due respect - i can not find the answer.
With this tool - Acronis True Image 2017 - what operating systems could be backup? I want to confirm that this tool allow me to backup Windows Server 2012 R2.
On product site there is only information that Acronis True Image supports - by supports i think it mean that we can install it on this os - Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10. But i ussually use BOOT_CD, so in most cases i don't install it on my os.
Thank you for answers.

Hi Steve Smith,
Thank you for answer.
But i need to ask few more questions acording to your answer. It might me that you missunderstood me. I will try to explain in more details to be sure that my question is understable. I'm the beginner with Acronis Tool.
For this moment i use ATIH only for perform full backup system (to be more detailed - backup Windows 7). In all backup actions i use BOOTCD (BOOT CD means that i can start ACRONIS TOOL, which starts BEFORE operating systems) and with running - lets call them - Acronis Boot Tool - i am able to backup my full system. The backup file is perform to removeable disk (not internal). The same situation with recover process. I start Acronis Tool from Boot CD and recover system from my removeable disk.
So, i don't need to built rescure disk or cd. I need only to perform full backup PC with Windows Server to removeable disk. And you are right - Hardware Disks are built in Raid.
Am i correct that you misunderstood my question? or my knowledge about Acronis is much worse that i think :)

Suhu, I do understand your question correctly.
The Acronis Boot CD is the Acronis Rescue Media - See KB document: 58816: Acronis True Image 2017: Creating Acronis Bootable Media which shows how this Boot CD / Rescue Media can be created from within the Acronis application (when installed on a supported Windows OS).
The point that I was making in my first response to you is to ask that you check that your Acronis Boot CD is able to recognise your Windows Server 2012 RAID disks correctly to allow a full backup to be created to an external disk drive.
If your Windows Server system has RAID support integrated into the BIOS configuration, then this should not require any additional device drivers in the Boot CD and all should work fine with the Standard (Linux based) Boot CD.
If your Windows Server requires additional device drivers in order to recognise your RAID disks, then you may need to use the Windows PE version of the Acronis Boot CD (Rescue Media). This is why you must test the Boot CD to see what is needed.
