Dennis, are you using the original DVD that was received when you purchased ATIH 2017 and used to install the product?

If so, I would recommend checking what build is being used for that DVD and whether you have upgraded the installed version to the latest #5554 build since installing?

I would suggest creating new Rescue Media from within the ATIH 2017 GUI (latest build version) and then check whether that sees both of your drives?

If you only purchased the software last week, then you would be entitled to a full refund from Acronis as you are within 30 days of purchase - you would need to contact Acronis directly to pursue a refund - this is just a user forum.

The other alternative here would be to open a support ticket with Acronis for this issue and let Acronis resolve the issue.

I'm using the the 2017 version I downloaded last week, when I purchased it.  The 2010 version is a 2011 update, and 2016 is an update. The earlier versions work just fine, only 2017 failed.

After the first DVD failed, I DL 2017 again, created another DVD, and it also failed to see my primary drive.  Has there been a newer 2017 update since last week?

Dennis, if you are downloading from your Acronis Account then the top of the Downloads page defaults to showing you the latest build version to download - see screen shot attached below from my own account page.

Upgrade procedure

If your current version of Acronis True Image is Acronis True Image 2015 or Acronis True Image 2016, the new version will simply update it; there is no need to remove the old version and reinstall the software. If your current version is older, we recommend that you remove the current version, first.

That said, I'd also recommend using the MVP WinPE builder tool (link below in this post).  If you are running Windows 7 or higher, you can install the Windows 10 ADK 1511 (link also below).  It's fairly large (3.4Gb when you pick the top 3 items - which is all you need, during the installation once it's started).  WinPE wilil give you much better driver support and the MVP tool gives you some really cool custom WinPE with a web browser, file explorers, task bar, etc. 

Thanks.  My old version on this PC was 2010 Home (which had no problems), and I removed it before installing 2017.  However, now W10 won't let me reinstall 2010Home, citing Acronis's security concerns and restriction.  So I'm stuck.  2017 doesn't work and 2010 cannot be reinstalled.  I may restore from a backup to get 2010 back.  Or I could use the 2016 Recovery DVD created on my other PC.  

I did DL from the link sent to me when I 'upgraded' to the failing version.  I will DL another copy, reinstall, and hope for the best.  

The SSD Acronis won't recognized is attached to add-in card, which is recognized while booting in BIOS, and is recognized by 2010Home and AT2016.

Dennis, the problem with trying to reinstall ATIH 2010 on Windows 10 is caused by Microsoft compatability checking which doesn't recognise 2010 as being compatible with this version of Windows - other users have reported the same when trying to install other version upto 2014.

From an Acronis perspective, only ATIH 2015 or later are supported for use with Windows 10.

I suspect that the real issue here is in the Linux kernel version which is used with the ATIH 2017 standard Rescue Media, this has probably dropped support for either the add-in card or it's method of connecting the SSD drive.  See KB document: 1537: Acronis Bootable Media which has details of the different Linux kernel versions used by all the different versions of ATIH.  Unfortunately it hasn't been updated for 2017 but I would expect that they have again moved to a later kernel.

There should be no problem in making backups of the SSD from within Windows 10 using ATIH 2017, and rather than restoring back to when you had 2010 installed, I would recommend creating the Windows PE version of the Rescue Media which should work fine with your add-in card & SSD.

You will need to install the Windows 10 ADK which provides the key components for the Windows PE media - this is approx 3.5GB to download - you only need to install 2 components of the ADK as shown in the screen shot below:

Once you have the ADK installed, then you can use the Acronis Rescue Media Builder to create the WinPE Rescue Media on either CD/DVD or USB memory stick - the latter is recommended as is more flexible.

The MVP community have also produced a utility script which allows for both 32-bit and 64-bit WinPE Rescue Media to be produced - see sticky post: 127281: MVP Tool - CUSTOM ATI WINPE BUILDER

I agree with Steve here.  Download the Windows 10 ADK and install it on you computer.  Download the MVP ATI WINPE Builder tool and run that to create a WinPE based media with True Image app plugin.  You can add the optional drivers offered in the MVP tool is you wish for added Intel Storage Driver support.  That should address your problem.
