Can't Change Default Location for Mobile Phone Backup
Just upgraded to 2017 on a win7 HP laptop and it will not allow me to change the default location for mobile phone bup to another location on the C drive. Any suggestions? Thanks.

A belated thanks for the response. I did as you suggested and I am getting the same lame support I did when I had the 2014 version that would not load on a Vista machine. For my current problem (changing location for mobile backup) I explained the situation, did the uninstall and reinstall which did not work, uploaded the Acronis report and video of the problem. It was a lot of back and forth, the technician didn't look at the report until I reminded him I had sent it, then sent a response that appeared to be for some other person's problem and then wanted to do a remote troubleshooting. I told him that I was not interested in someone prowling through my PC and wasting anymore time on a remote session and to close the issue which really isn't a deal breaker but irritating because it shouldn't have been a problem at all. After all that I received an email today telling me they hadn't received the files requested and am I satisfied that the issue is resolved! Making things worse is the tech's lack of communication skills likely due to being a non native english speaker. Another example of poorly written software and even worse support. If they can't get the backup location change right, I wonder if my backups will be successfully restored if I ever have to deal with a crash. I regret purchasing this software.

PF, sorry to hear of the poor response from support for this problem.
Please send a PM to Gaidar, General Manager Acronis True Image with reference to this forum topic and if you have a copy of your chat transcript or copies of your emails, then copy some of the relevant parts in with your message.

I tried to do the same thing yesterday and it did not change the folder.
I then went to the Services. The Acronis Mobile Backup Service and Acronis Mobile Backup Status Service were both set to Manual (I'm sure I did that explicitly) and were not running. I started up the two services and then the backup location change worked perfectly.

Bruno, thanks for your suggestion, it makes sense that the Mobile Backup services may need to be running in order for this type of change to be enabled, certainly worth giving it a try.

Kudos to Bruno! Started those services which were off by default and it worked. If Acronis is monitoring this forum you need to train your support people correctly and not waste the consumers time with the boiler plate uninstall/reinstall, remote login etc. Better yet, fix your software so that this is not a problem. Thanks Bruno and Steve.

PF, glad to hear that Bruno's suggestion worked for you too - it is one to remember and which I hadn't considered as I normally have these services running by default.
