Cloud Backups are impossibly slow.

Thread needs solution

Just purchased Acronis True Image, 3 computer with 1Tb Cloud Backup, today.

Cloud backup is totally worthless! 1 Mbps Backup speed; I have just over 500 Gigabytes to do! Checked on the internet, this is apprently normal for Acronis Cloud backup; their explanations for the problem are equally worthless. I know my upload download speed, and I did set the controls for max speed, and it is still 1 Mbps, welcome back to 1995! This should have been pointed out at the sales point.

After entire day, I managed to upload 5 Gigabytes, and paused it. Deleting the 5 Gigabytes already online before I paused uploading (Until Hell freezes over!) is also impossible. Everytime I try it, the pop-up simply tells me "The Computer is in use". See Below:

Solved this problem, you have to get the Acronis website up from "Help", and then turn off the Acronis on your computer screen after getting the web site; otherwise  the website thinks the Acronis program is still working. Deleted all my cloud storage.

Can't contact anyone on so-called "Chat" it just takes me back to the information fill out page every time I use it, and the e-mail support is totally worthless; nice support Acronis.

Did not solve this problem; any method of contacting Chat was a Fail. Finally went old-fashoned, and simply used the phone to call them; that worked.

Initiated refund through phone call.

The process of connecting to chat is a bit convoluted - you need to specify the nature of the problem. I sometimes feel that I am going around in circles when I go through the process.

The speed at which Acronis backs up to its Cloud Server is primarly dependent on the upload speed that the user's ISP gives them. In my case my speeds and nominally 100 Mbps / 2 Mbps, although recently uploads have been more than 2.5 Mbps. (When my ISP moves to DOCIS 3.1 next year my upload speed will increase to 40 Mbps.) For the moment I cannot remember if there is a setting within Acronis that fine-tunes the upload speed within the max avaiable - they were working on such a feature some time back. Another thing that can impact on your upload speeds is any AoS (quality of service) settings in your router which give priority to certain types of data. Usually this deals with downloads, but it can also deal with uploads.

With a large backup task it can take some time for Acronis to pause, as it cataloges the status of the paused backup (which files have been backed-up and which have not plus 'preserving' those that have not yet been backed up).

I have up to 105 Mbps upload speed when i use the cloud backup so it does work good. The upload speed one get depends on several factors. Make sure that you manually select the Data center in the Online backup options and follow the instructions given there. Make sure that your ISP can provide you with the upload speed you want. If your ISP provide low speed, you will get low speed. There are websites on the internet that let´s you check your upload/download speeds.

What download/upload speed do you have from your ISP?
Were do you live?

All agreed as posted by IanLs and Roger A.  Here's another thread that drives this home.  This user assumed he was getting his ISP's full 50Mbps download, but in reality, it is based upon ISP upload speeds.  Also, it turns out he was getting nowhere near his assumed ISP speeds in either direction when testing wtih speedtest.net so he's having to work that out with the ISP as well.

Thanks; no method of contacting Chat worked, until I went back to basics and phoned them. That worked

Roger A: West Coast; and that seems to be a problem with Acronis. Gave up; Chat didn't work, simply phoned them and initiated a refund.

Program also seems to have too many other hang-ups involved in usage.

Did set all Acronis speeds to max, and had no heavy internet traffic in my area to slow speeds down. Can't spend 37 days to upload just over 500 Gigabytes of data, or spend half that time to re-download my cloud storage back down to computer if I need it back.

My internet speeds are fine, upload and download, only Acronis has this problem. Initiated refund.
