Paul, welcome to these User Forums.

The main issue here is that you are attempting to do your C: partition recovery by starting this from within Windows but the temporary Linux environment that Acronis creates in order to do the recovery cannot find your internal disk drive after you launch it.

This may be that your UEFI BIOS has Secure Boot enabled and this is not allowing the Linux OS to boot correctly, or alternatively, your internal disk drive may be configured in RAID mode for which there are no device drivers in the Linux environment.

It is highly recommended to create and use the Acronis bootable Rescue Media when attempting this type of OS partition recovery - this may give you the same symptoms if either Secure Boot or RAID is stopping things, but is a lot safer than allowing Acronis to modify your Windows boot configuration.

If you have RAID configured, then if this is only for a single drive, you may be able to try to temporarily reconfigure the drive SATA controller to use AHCI while you do the Recovery, then set it back to RAID again afterwards.

If you have 2 or more disk drives in a true RAID configuration, then you will need to create the alternative Windows PE version of the Acronis Rescue Media and inject the RAID drivers to this media - this can be done using the MVP Custom ATI PE Builder tool provided you have already installed the Windows ADK which is required for this feature (and have ATIH 2017 installed).
