initial Bkup to cloud then change to differential?

Thread needs solution

Hi!

I am now in the process of Backing up my system to the cloud as a Full type.

After that can I set the type to differential, etc.?

OR

do I do that initially before I backup, and automatically the full backup

is created first?

Thanks so much for the help!

Jeff :)

There are no backup variations for the cloud.  The cloud uses a proprietary scheme that will always backup deltas (any changes) that exist between what's stored in the cloud and what's on your machine.  It's set and forget. The first backup will be long to capture everything.  Subsequent backups should go much faster as it just backs up the changes (well, until the next Windows 10 "upgrade" comes along anyway - which will cause double the space you currently have to need to be backed up after that when the upgrade is complete).

FYI - please make sure you still do local backups.  Cloud is great for disaster recovery, but can be slow.  Plus, it's best not to put all your eggs in one basket either.  3-2-1 is the universally recommended backup plan.

3 - at least 3 copies of your data (original plus at least 2 backups)

2 - at least 2 different locations for backups

1 - at least one of those locations for your backups is offsite

Bobbo,

Thanks so much!

Perfect! :D
