Online Dashboard only lists last backup

Thread needs solution

I have enough Cloud space for multiple Full backups.  Yet eveytime I do a backup, the Dashboard shows only the most recent backup.  How can I get it to keep as many as there is space for?

Gus, welcome to these user forums.

When you create backups to the Acronis Cloud there are no Backup Schemes that you can choose from as you get for local or network backups.

The first backup to the Cloud will always be a full backup and after that only changes are sent to the Cloud, so you will never see multiple Full backups in the Cloud for the same task.

See the ATIH 2017 User Guide: Backing up disks and partitions which has the following statement:

When you back up your data to Acronis Cloud, the first backup may take a considerable amount of time to complete. Further backup processes will likely be much faster, because only changes to files will be transferred over the Internet.

It further states:

Once an online backup is started, you are free to close Acronis True Image 2017 New Generation. The backup process will continue in background mode. If you suspend the backup, turn off your computer, or disconnect it from the Internet, the backup will resume when you click Back up now or when the Internet connection is restored. A backup interruption does not cause your data to be uploaded twice.

Also, if you log into the cloud website, when you pick a file, you can then pick a date to recover from for files or folders.  If doing a full system recovery, I would only do this with rescue media (to start the process).   Once connected, it will ask you to pick a backup date and then go from there.

As a personal thought, I would not rely on Cloud for the full recovery, except as a secondary backup option. Cloud is great for offsite file storage and disaster recovery, but many times slower than local backups.  Plus, having only 1 backup plan is risky as well - software is not perfect and media isn't either.  The IT standard is 3-2-1 (for home to).  3 copies of your data - stored in at least 2 locations with at least one of those being offsite.  In most cases, offsite recovery is only used for disaster reocvery where there is no local backup to use or the local bakup was damaged, corrupt, or unavailable.
