Recover to New Location

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am trying to recover a file to a new location (not the original location). I can't seem to change the location and don't want to overwrite the existing file, I want to compare it to an older version.

How do I do that?

Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

I assume you started by selecting Recover Files and then selected the file in question. When you go to the Next screen, does it not allow you to browse to a new destination?

What were the specific steps you took until you had trouble?

An easier method might be to just navigate to the backup .tib file in Windows explorer and double click on it.  It should open up the .tib in Explorer (if using a password for backup encryption, you'll need to enter that first).  Then navigate to the file that way and copy and paste out of the backup that way.  This is the easiest method for file/folder recovery (in most cases) and will allow you to copy it where you need to before replacing the original file (if you need to do that).

Alternatively, you can also go to the .tib file and right click >>> acronis true image >>> mount

Then mount it as a drive letter (like an external USB drive would show up).  Then navigate and copy/paste from it that way instead.
