Space in disk C:

Thread needs solution

Hi. Tell me please, after installing the acronis, the free space on the C: disk started to decrease, it found the folder System Volume Information\file protection\, it takes me more than 50GB, after the computer restarts the site reappears, but I can not reboot this computer once a week, how to be? And why does it take so much space to use the acronis?

The System Volume Information folders are used by the Microsoft VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) which Acronis uses to make snapshots of your data when doing a backup.

You could try downloading / using the free Acronis VSS Doctor tool to check if you have any issues with the VSS service on your computer and that it is configured correctly.

If you still see a problem, I would recommend opening a Support Case direct with Acronis Support for this issue and let them investigate further with you.

The System Information file should also be an excluded from backup by default in the application.  Check the Options, Advanced, Exclusions list to see if it is listed there.
