True image 2017 build 8029 fox.dll missing?

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

Just upgrated 3 of my windows 10 64bit computers to true image 2017 build 8029.

In the build prior to this one, 'clone disk' was working. Now that I updated to build 8029 nothing happens when I click th clone buttion.

So I went to 'all tools' which brings up all the shortcuts to the various programs. I clicked 'clone disk' ( and 'system restore') and get

THE PROGRAM CANNOT START BECAUSE FOX.DLL IN MISSING. REINSTALL THE PROGRAM.

This seems to be bug in build in 8029, because all three of my W10 64 bit computers had 'the clone sisk utility working?

P.S. I ran a system report; would any info there be helpful in this forum?

anyone else have this happen? Suggestions?  Being it's on all three computers, would this not point to a bug?

Thanks,

Mike

No issue cloning with 8029 for me or restoring - I never start from Windows though on my production machines (only on my test VM's) - it's not worth the risk - please use rescue media to start this process.

Sticky: [IMPORTANT] CLONING - How NOT to do this!!!

As for a possible issue with the current isntallation, grab the full installer from your account. Once downloaded, right click and "run as administrator" even if already logged in as admin.  Run a REPAIR.  Once repaired, reboot and you can test again.  I highly encourage you to never start a clone or full disk RECOVERY from Windows if you like your system to remain bootable.  It works fine for many, but also not for many because of things like Bios SECUREBOOT, drive encryption, or a lack of drivers in the Acronis Linux environment (particularly if you have a SATA mode set to RAID in the bios).

Thanks for the great info!

I DL'd the install, ran as administrator and turned off Avira anti-virus.

After a couple of tries I was able to get build 8029 back on and cloned the computer drives.

Much appreciated !!

Regards,

Mike

Awesome.  Glad to hear that you're back on business again.
