Unable to save new backup created with Acronis True Image 2017
Environment:
Clean Windows 10 installation on a new hard drive with all fixes applied
Lenovo W530
Acronis True Image 2017, build 5554
Situation:
I had Acronis True Image 2017 running on the Lenovo W530 with Windows 10. This was an upgrade from a Windows 7 environment. It was running fine. I set up multiple backup schemes. I got tired of all the problems with the Windows 10 upgrade (not Acronis) and decided to do a clean install of Windows 10 on a new hard drive. I installed Acronis True Image 2017 on the brand new installation of Windows 10 and am getting this message preventing me from creating a new backup scheme - "If you leave this window, the current settings will be lost. Are you sure that you want to cancel configuration of the backup?"
The only way I have found to actually get the new backup to "save" is to kick off a backup immediately with a scheduled shutdown. Then when I bring the machine back up it has the new backup reflected under "This computer."
Question: Anyone else having this problem? If so, the workaround has me running but it is not satisfactory.
Suggestions appreciated (other than uninstalling - then running some utility to clean up what the uninstal utility missed). I have read the forums and if there is a resolution out there, point me to it.
Could this be a problem because Acronis thinks I violated the 1 P.C. agreement? If so, how do I resolve the problem?
Thanks,
Pete
