Unacceptable quality. Unacceptable support. Unacceptable change in licensing with time bomb and auto-renew without notice.
I had had multiple long long drawn out resolution processes with Acronis over TrueImage 2017. I have used the product for many years but this one is a total flop.
Consolidation absolutely does not work, and Support cannot fix it after multiple tickets. The knowledge base says you can manually delete old versions. Support says this is unsupported. What?
Backup to removable media fails when using multiple volumes, despite the fact that the documentation says it works.
The 2017 version sneaked in a subscription model, which is unwanted, and it has a time bomb in it that will make the product stop working, and an automatic renewal to charge your credit card again after a year. This was not explained during purchase.
The only solution for about 6 problems I reported has been a reinstall. The cleverbridge download link expires after about 60 days, and then you cannot do that. Three times when I did reinstall, it wiped out all my backup definitions. I had to manually redo them. However, the backups did not work correctly. All three times I reinstalled, I had to start completely over with new backups. And, the solution of reinstalling DID NOT resolve the problems. In one case, their service person logged in to my computer and reinstalled it. Same problem - didn't fix the issue and wipred out my backup definitions.
The bootable media creation fails if you select the options on the screen to include both Disk Director and Trueimage on the same bootup disk. After multiple exchangeson a ticket, the support person finally told me it is unsupported because they use different linux versions on the bootable disk. he had no interest in correcting the bootable media creation screen selections or even fixing documentation.
In one case, I was unable to recover a backup, and I had to go back to a Microsoft backup, which is not what I wanted to do.
I have used this product for many years and I know how it works. I had great confidence in this as a backup solution, but I have asked for my money back so I can purchase something else. Unacceptable product. Unacceptable support. Unacceptable change in licensing without notice.
