Universal Restore

Thread needs solution

When i attempt to do a restore to a samsung NVME MZSLW1T0 on a Lenovo x1 carbon 20FBCTO1WW it goes halfway through and then asks for a driver pci/ven_8086&dev_9d2f&subsys_223817aa&rev_21 and pci\ven_144d&dev_a804&subsys_a801144d&rev_00.  How do i equate these to a driver?  Thanks

George, welcome to these user forums.

I would recommend going to the Lenovo support website and seeing if you can download the Chipset and Disk Controller drivers for your particular computer model.

The first driver looks to be related to USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller, and the second for your NVMe Controller (from doing a quick search on Google).

Where is it asking for a driver?  No where during the image restore should you need to supply drivers unless you're running Universal Restore.  If this is the same computer, but different hard drive, don't run Universal Restore.

You need to be using the rescue media to backup the old drive and the same rescue media to restore the backup to the new drive.  Universal Restore is only needed if you are switching major hardware (typically teh motherboard or a new pc)

Glad to hear it!
