Worth updating?
As a long time Acronis user who has soured somewhat since my last upgrade to TI 2015 (frightening install experience and non-existent support), I passed on TI 2016 since I understood there was no major changes. Is that also the case for 2017? Are those that upgraded pretty satisfied?
Thanks,
Doug

I can find no compelling reason to upgrade to 2017. It's identical to 2016 with additional bugs. The process to upgrade from 2016 to 2017 on 3 systems yielded 2 failures and one success. I was able to get the other 2 systems to finally update after some finagling.
Major bug in ATI 2017 for me: Backups to ASZ pause, retry repeatedly, then inevitably fail. Known issue.
Save your money and your sanity.

I also want to know if it's worth the money to upgrade to 2017 from 2016? I'm a long time user of TrueImage and have upgraded each year from the prior version mainly because I was concerned about support more than new and/or exciting features as all of my backups are made to external USB connected hard drives, not to the cloud. My fear is that some bug, known or unknown by Acronis, might exist and that Acronis would no longer fix the problem as it's not the most current version being sold. On the other hand it seems that Acronis puts out a new release every year and at $30 an upgrade the functionality I use is pretty much the same and totally meets my needs. If there's some new functionality that would WOW me then I might be interested but I'm not sure that paying for an upgrade is really in my best interest as long as the version I have still works. Please share your thoughts with me. Thanks.

I don't see any major chnages in function from TI 2016. The biggest change is the 2 years of chat/email support that is now included with the perpetual license. I'm following this forum closely to see how TI 2017 is performing.

I upgraded 2014 to 2017 with much trepidation, I bought 2015 but didn't like it and tried 2016, ditto. I had concerns that 2014 may be pushing the technology on Windows 10 64bit. I only make full images, twice a week, to an internal HDD and a rotating external HDD, I have no interest in differential or incremental imaging, I also use NSB. So far everything has worked perfectly, I have made one restore (I am an inveterate fiddler). As the old quote says 'If all else fails read the bloody manual' Or, ask the selfless advisors Steve and Bobbo, who do a marvellous job helping we slow learners.

From my own experience, if you have a perpetual license, as opposed to a subscription, then stay where you are. I have a cable modem and the upgrade knocked out my internet connection as well as my TV service. It took some time to determine the cause. Initially I fought with the cable service! Eventually I figured out that it was related to the update.
The support team had me going through all sorts of efforts to try to get it working, but fortunately, one of the MVPs here on the website was better able to walk me through the complexities of what had to be done with firewall rules, etc.
Although I have finally resolved that mess, I am still waiting for a response to my request for assistance as to why my cloud backups are failing. The instructions on what they wanted me to do in order to trouble shoot are again complex, and worse than that, the screen that that refer to in the KB articles that you are told to follow, do not even match what is shown on the screens.
I also felt that I was duped into signing up for an additional subscription, but that too seems to keep falling on deaf ears. All I can say is don't upgrade what's not broken!
