Acronis Support?
Since installing ATI2018 on my Win 10 Pro x64 system, I have had my Acronis Protection icon in the system tray randomly disappear. The latest build has not fixed this. I can restore it my manually opening "trueimagemonitor.exe", or by restarting. The startup config is correct.
I opened a case with tech support, and uploaded a System Report as they requested. I just received a reply requesting that I "record a short video of the issue happening and upload it".
Seriously? A video of an icon blinking out from the system tray at a completely unpredictable time?
Is tech support completely AI simulating a real person? Not real comfortable uploading the Acronis System Report, which has a HUGE amount of confidential data about my system, and getting a response like that.
A video of an icon being there, then suddenly not being there, IF I could possibly catch it, would help how??
Hopefully, they will look at the logs in the System Report and figure out when/why the process quit. Just thought it was really bizarre! - JW
"Hello J,
Thank you for your response.
Based on my previous E-mail, I suggested you to share a short video of the issue happening along with system report , however I got only system report.
Please record a short video of the issue happening and upload it in the FTP link.
I look forward to your response."

J, what actual build for Windows 10 Pro do you have installed here?
The only time I have seen this behaviour with the AAP icon (caused by TrueImageMonitor.exe not starting or abending) is with the Insiders builds of Windows 10.

Hi jwitkin,
We've reviewed your open ticket with the management - a video capture is not required. The support team will continue investigation of the shared log files.

Build 16299 - Fall Creator. It is actually a new clean install about 2 weeks ago of Windows and everything else on a wiped hard drive - it was time to do that (for other reasons - starting to get random BSODs. Much better now :)

Yes, it is set to appear in the task bar when it is running. It really quits.
Sorry, I am trying to reply to each comment directly, but all my responses seem to be adding on at the bottom. You all can tell who I am replying to, I'm sure! :)

j,
I have not noticed that myself. There have been other posts about the tray icon but not this specific issue. Good news is it is being looked into.

I have given up on my customer service request. I am getting responses that clearly indicate that the rep does not grasp the issue I am describing, although I have made it very clear multiple times. I have asked for the request to be escalated but this has not happened. At this point, I will put up with the tray icon periodically disappearing (as the backups themselves are working), or go back to True Image 2017, which was actually working fine.
I realize TI is a complex program, but customer service ought to be able to determine how to approach correcting an issue without going round and round multiple times requesting more irrelevant information (such as a screen video of an event happening at unpredictable times, perhaps once every few days, with no visible sign except that a tray icon disappears...).

Hello jwitkin,
I have checked your support request and indeed see that there seems to be a crash in TrueImageMonitor.exe. I have contacted support managers and asked them to personally check the case.
