Acronis True Image 2018 Activation Problem on Windows XP
I need some help. For time being Acronis support has not been able to help me.
I need to activate Acronis True Image 2018 (Build 9660) offline on an old XP SP3 machine. I go to the process, get the response key from Acronis web site and enter it into the offline activation screen. At this point the window closes and the same one pops asking me to activate. The number is apparently good because if I change it, the program complains that it is a wrong number.
It appears to me that Acronis activation is using some library/dll that does not exist in my OS. I tried installing the c runtime, .net, but nothing helped.
I tried to activate a different XP machine, but to no avail.
Some ideas would be appreciated

In risposta a Zoran, welcome to these user… di truwrikodrorow…

It is a 32-bit system. Acronis says that it is supported (basic features). What's even worse all the features that I need are working, so if I could only activate.
One of the hints might be the following. The support sent me some system gathering utility (registers, settings...). Now, I tried this utility on my windows 7 machine, and it pops up a progress window and creates the report. In the XP machine however there is no popup window, but the report still generates. That leads me to the conclusion that both Acronis utilities and activation are using some Windows features/dlls that do not get installed on XP.
I am curious once you try to activate off-line in some other Windows environment is there a confirmation window after "Activate" is pressed? Something like, "Are you sure?"
Thanks,
Zoran

Zoran, thanks for the further information.
I have to confess that I have never tried doing offline activation as all my computers have been connected to the network and activated in that way.
See KB 59879: Acronis True Image 2018: how to activate serial number which covers both online and offline activation methods.
I suspect that you are correct about ATI using some Windows features/dlls that do not get installed on XP.
