Acronis True Image 2018 Update 2 ISO version no longer works for cloning disks

Thread needs solution

The new update (10410) no longer allows for cloning disks from the ISO version. When trying to clone a Harddisk to say an SSD, the program now claims that it is a trial version and can not preform this function. This happens even if the ISO was downloaded from an active licensed account. Sad to see this function go, if this is the case for future updates. Backup and Cloning from a flash drive boot were THE MOST USEFUL FEATURES of Acronis True Image for me.

Brad, welcome to these User Forums.

If your ISO download is showing as a Trial version and therefore limited in function, then this is an error on behalf of Acronis and you should open a Support Case to report this.

In the interim period, you should try creating the Simple version of the Rescue Media using the Rescue Media Builder tool which is part of the installed ATI app - this will create media based on your Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).  This in turn should reflect your Activated status for the software.

Thought that just maybe the Acronis dev team actually read the forums. Opened a ticket. The True Image ISO Version 9850 works just fine this. Hoping that this wasn't a harbinger of things to come. Having a self-booting universal ISO version of the will be kind of pointless if the features such as Backup, Recovery, and Cloning will not work from it.

Hello c_dog,

Thank you for letting us know about the issue! We've uploaded a new .iso, please download Acronis bootable media again and check if cloning works as expected.

Thank you!
