Finish in 1hour but after 1 hour says finish in 2 hours
Finish in 1hour says the Mini-PC full backup, but after 1 hour says finish in 2 hours...well, await or...?
Beelink Mini-PC backup

For these symptoms, what maybe the wrong…?
Acronis TI 2018 or Macrium Reflect 8 free backup
Backup take for ever to get completed and abandoned it, also backup tib file just prior abandoned, was 0KB.
Such circumstances, what may be the wrong with this Beelink Mini-PC DDR4 8GB RAM, CELERON J4xxx.
Another problem, I detect was slow and freeze when used wireless mouse/keyboard and usb stick for the wireless, Not Bluetooth but wireless.
When used wired usb mouse and keyboard not such problems… but forever backup also happens…
well?

Dear Lse,
Welcome to Acronis Forum. In order to help you we need to understand what exactly is happening. Can you please tell text of the error or better present screenshots?
- Accedi per poter commentare

The only text I can provide is
68.89% backup left 3hours [1hour before may said 1hour to finish]
or left 50hours for the backup to finish
in less words, is Not worth to await,
for this may SSD needs repair, or the Windows 10 need fix/repair…what you think?

Are you saying that you see the same slow performance for both ATI 2018 and Macrium Reflect 8 Free? If yes, then the problem is with the Beelink Mini-PC rather than the backup software being used.

I have only limited experience with mini-PCs; the one I have has Celeron CPU but only 4GB of RAM; also if the main storage is eMMC rather than SSD that will slow down things considerably; performs much better now that I have installed a M.2 SSD (unfortunately the chipset on support PCIe 2.0 so not as fast as when using PCIe 3.0.

Do you think the problem is with the Disk 0 or the Windows 10 Pro - or both maybe need a fix?
- Accedi per poter commentare

If both ATI 2018 and MR 8 are showing the same poor performance, then a disk issue is more likely the cause than Windows 10.
The simple way to eliminate Windows 10 is to boot the PC from rescue media (ATI or MR) and try the Backup in that method where no OS is involved from the PC (only the WinPE used to create the media).

Thanks for your valuable advise
Since this is a mini PC the choice is usb stick media
Can create this from another PC...? In other words create a universal usb stick rescue/clone/backup media from Acronis ti 2018, for all my PCs...?
Please provide step-by-step urls for this?
- Accedi per poter commentare

Can I validate this backup, done from bootable media by anyway?
- Accedi per poter commentare

It is best / recommended to create the rescue media on the PC where it will be used, which when creating the 'Simple' WinPE media will include device drivers from the Windows Recovery Environment of that PC.
KB 60820: Acronis True Image 2018: how to create bootable media
Validation can also be done from the Acronis rescue media by selecting the Recovery option, then right-clicking on the backup image file and taking the Validate option from the menu shown.

Do you think, problems (backup take forever) with this Mini-PC be obstacles to creating rescue media inside the normal time frame?
Linux or Windows PE, what media create?
If problem creating media in this Mini-PC, can i try create universal media from another normal PC...?
I will try soon

I have just read the URLs you provided
When create universal media, or Linux based media, better being Linux based / Simple choice?
The media either WinPE 64-bit or Linux 64-bit when created done, DVD or USB STICK, then the boot mode Legacy/BIOS vs UEFI of this from boot-media, is declared during boot time, correct?
Have to choose at boot time UEFI USB Boot, if the Mini-PC is UEFI...Correct?
- Accedi per poter commentare

You don't need to create Universal Restore media and Linux media has many limitations.
Take the option to create 'Simple' media, especially when using with a PC with UEFI & Secure Boot enabled. Media creation should only take a couple of minutes at most, including formatting the target USB media.
The rescue media should be used with the same BIOS boot mode as used by Windows.
Run the command: msinfo32 and check the BIOS mode value shown in the right panel to confirm it is UEFI boot.

So, in less words, you suggest create WinPE Media from this Mini-PC itself,... correct?
Normally, this should finishes in less than 20-30 minutes, correct?

Yes, unless you have a definite hardware issue that prevents this action!

I created backup media in usb stick 3.0… Acronis TI 2018 WindowsPE
Now I booted from usb stick media, connected the external HDD usb 3.0, and started the backup from live usb, currently is in step 2 of 4 - and needs 2 hours to finish,…
can you tell about time to finish, the disk 0 c:/ is 240gb - full 145gb - about 2-3 hours the max is ok to finish you think?
- Accedi per poter commentare

OK, THE BACKUP from Live USB Stick Acronis media - FINISHED IN 2-3 HOURS
Does it mean Windows 10 Pro needs a fix as it takes forever to back up in windows 10 Pro/Acronis TI 2018?
Can I validate this Acronis backup that is done with bootable media from Acronis TI 2018 Windows 10, or from Acronis TI 2018 - Windows 10 but on another PC... with Acronis TI 2018?
- Accedi per poter commentare

Difficult for us to say why the backup from within Windows 10 takes so much longer but it may simply be that the PC is constrained by CPU, Memory, SSD or other background applications that are active including antivirus / security apps, whereas in the offline rescue media only Acronis is running / consuming resources.
You should be able to validate the backup image on any PC with ATI 2018 or later installed.

Okay
my PCs are 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 Pro
why sometimes in Task Manager see
Acronis TI 2018 (32-bit)
?

Also,
given a tib full backup file, from a mini PC to external HDD usb 3, how to, validate it in another Tower PC, both PCs with Windows 10 Pro & Acronis TI 2018…?
when validate did so till now, only from the same PC, …
- Accedi per poter commentare

All versions of ATI are only 32-bit applications when running in Windows, that includes current versions of ACPHO too. Acronis rescue media offers a choice of 32-bit or 64-bit applications for Linux media, and WinPE rescue media matches the OS, so will be 64-bit on your PC's.
The source of any .tib backup image content is irrelevant to the validation process.
Validation does not guarantee that a backup file will result in a successful, working recovery!
What validation does do is to confirm that the backup file that was created by the backup operation has not been changed after it was written to the storage drive / location. It does this by reading the backup TIB / TIBX file and calculating checksum values for each block of the file then comparing those checksums with values embedded within the file. It the checksums match, then the file has not been changed since written.
What validation cannot do is to change whether any malware, virus or corruption was present in the source data for the backup operation when it was performed. This can also include file system issues present when a backup was created but not detected or known about.

Normally to validate a backup, press the arrow next to backup name and chose validate, because exist entry, same PC backup validate…
for a backup, from another PC, there is No backup name, how find the validate option and click it…?
- Accedi per poter commentare

Use Windows Explorer, locate the .tib or .tibx file, right-click on the file and find the Acronis option in the menu, there should be options to Mount or Validate provided you have ATI installed on that PC.

Okay
I found validate option
normally if validated success and data of disk-0 of size 149gb created backup.tib of 128gb size, probably that should be normal and inside the limits, correct?

what is the "Reconfigure" button, in a non-same PC validated success page???? RED ARROWS

Probably! Backup size depends on compression, type of files included, files excluded etc.

When you validate a backup on another PC, it will add an entry under 'Others' using the file name from the image .tib file. This is normal.
The Reconfigure button is for if the user wants to continue that backup on this PC by reconfiguring the Source selection and backup task options.
- Reconfigure (for backups manually added to the backup list) - allows configuring the settings of a backup created by a previous Acronis True Image version. This item may also appear for backups created on another computer and added to the backup list without importing their settings.
Without backup settings, you cannot refresh the backup by clicking Back up now. Also, you cannot edit and clone the backup settings.

Disk 0
is the only disk on this mini PC the C:/ with EFI hidden partitions
after boot from usb stick 3.0 Acronis TI 2018 media Windows PE
I have used default compression default excluded and default included files, in other words all defaults settings…
is the size of this Tib, backup file, backup full, first backup, reasonable?
- Accedi per poter commentare

The backup size is reasonable.
