Has Acronis Certified that ATI 2018 is Compatible with the WIN 10 Meltdown Update ?
In testing, The Emergency Microsoft Update for The Meltdown Vulnerability caused systems with certain unmodified AVs to BSOD. As a result, Microsoft is requiring all AV vendors to add a new registry key that comprises a vendor's certification that it's software is compatible with the Win 10 Update for the Meltdown Vulnerability. Absent that new additional registry key, the Emergency Update will not be available for download.
I understand that Acronis TI's Anti Ransomware feature is not a traditional AV. However, it would be nice to have some sort of assurance that the Update will not result in a BSOD cuz of Acronis TI 2018.
Has anyone successfully received today's emergency WIN 10 Update with ATI 2018 installed?

Hi Steve :-)
You can determine if your AV is currently compatible by seeing if the following key is in your registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" Subkey="SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\QualityCompat" Value="cadca5fe-87d3-4b96-b7fb-a231484277cc" Type="REG_DWORD
This chart with the status of several AVs was made by bleepingcomputer sometime early today

Yes securing 100% protection from Meltdown and especially Spectre is complicated, but the issue of whether or not an AV program will result in a BSOD after the Emergency Update is not complicated. Either a program is compatible or it isn't.

K so I forced the Emergency Update ("Check for Updates") and all is good - no problems with compatibility issues with ATI 2018 installed :-)

My AV provider has only got a .RC version through testing so far, so I am waiting on this being rolled out more widely rather than going the RC route yet. Thanks for posting your test results with regard to AAP not causing any issue with the emergency fix applied.

Hello thunderhawk,
We have tested Acronis True Image with the new Windows build in our environments and did not detect any issues.
