How use copied full backup files for subsequent differential backups?

Thread needs solution

How do I do this?:

Make full backup file on external disk M
Copy the full backup file to disk R
Run Trueimage 2018 to make differential backup on disk R

I've tried making two TrueImage "backups" differing only in the destination disk names.
But when I run the "R" backup, it complains "The specified file does not exist".
It then reports that the "diff" file does not exist, which makes sense, since I haven't created it yet.

Robert, the recommended method would be to have two separate tasks, one going to your M: drive, and the second to your R: drive, each creating separate full and differential backups instead of copying files from one drive to the other.

When you make a backup, then information for the files created by that task are stored in the Acronis Database, including details of the drive and drive letter where they were created.

When you copy or move a backup file to a different drive, that information in the Database is not updated, so ATI does not know about the files stored in the new location.

If you are copying from M: to R:, then you would need to use the option to "Add existing backup" to create a new backup task based on the copied file, then configure this new task with the same options as used in the original task.
