Не работает UEFI (Проблема с разрешением)

Thread needs solution

UEFI does not work (Problem with resolution)
Hello!

I'm trying to create a recovery disc from ATI + ADD: After updating in ATI, I can not add ADD. If I make a disk in ADD, then everything goes fine and the disk is loaded both in normal mode and in UEFI from the selection menu, but in small and extended resolution. In the help, I subtracted how to add my own permission: when creating, add the parameters to the line: vga = 0x34s - which corresponds to 1920x1080 and 16bit. I write the disk and, when I load it into uefi, pops up the selection menu and immediately disappears, and Windows boots. In normal mode, everything works and the resolution is correct. Tell me what could be the problem? And yet, I have Windows 10 on the GPT disk - do I have to download Acronis via UEFI or can I use the old bootloader, there will not be any problems?

See KB 59877: Acronis True Image 2017: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media  which may help show the differences in the Rescue Media according to how it is booted.

See also KB 60091: Acronis True Image 2018: how Simple bootable media creation mode works which deals with how the Rescue Media has changed with the 2018 version to defaulting to using Windows PE.

I would recommend trying the MVP Custom ATIPE media builder script (follow the MVP User Tools and Tutorials link in the forum) as this can include both ATI and ADD into the same media plus allow you to set you display resolution etc.

Thank you very much for your help, Steve!

Despite the fact that I wrote in Russian, you understood me correctly. I will follow the instructions you provided and leave a response. One small question: is it safe for me to use ATI bootable disk for in Legacy BIOS mode for now, despite my Windows 10 is installed in the UEFI mode (my motherboard supports both modes)? I searched on the Internet, but I did not understand, does it affect something?

Dmitriy, this question arose yesterday in the 2017 forum with another topic: Slow backup speed where I gave the following answer:

I would recommend caution when advising to use Legacy boot mode for Acronis Rescue Media for computers which boot Windows in UEFI mode.  This may work fine for creating backups but may cause problems if you take this same approach when attempting to recover your backup to the same computer if the incorrect boot mode is used.

See KB 60131: Acronis True Image 2018: how to restore your computer with WinPE-based or WinRE-based media and in particular the guidance at step 2. of the procedure outlined.

See also KB 59877: Acronis True Image 2017: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media

Finally, see webpage: BIOS Mode - See if Windows Boot in UEFI or Legacy Mode

The key issue, to my knowledge, would mainly impact on recovery, where if a Legacy boot PC is recovered in UEFI mode, it would result in the disk being converted from MBR to GPT.  See the ATI 2018 User Guide: About recovery of dynamic/GPT disks and volumes then scroll down to where it shows a table with the heading Partition style after recovery

If your machine boots in UEFI mode DO NOT boot the recovery media in Legacy mode.  Any recovery of a backup image if you do so will fail as the recovery will be set as a Legacy boot disk.

On UEFI boot machines display resolution when booted to boot media is controlled by the UEFI itself via GOP (Grphaics Output Protocol).  This sets resolution to the native display resolution of the monitor.  If the UEFI GOP is unable to do that then the default VGA resolution of 1024 x 768 is used.

If you have Secure Boot enabled in your machine bios you might try disabling it then boot the media again.  It might solve your issue.

It sounds like you have created a Linux based recovery media,  if you have and turning off Secure Boot doesn't work then I have not idea how to address your issue.

If you are using the default WinPE media then you can get passed this issue by using the Windows 10 WinPE version 1703 or above ADK.  OEM's had this same issue so Microsoft built in a fix in these latest versions of the Win 10 WinPE ADK.  This will only work when creating WinPE media, WinRE media does not support the fix.
