No boot device after clone.
Hello,
I cloned a Windows 10 Dell laptop from a spinner to an SSD, which I've done a number of times. I tried it from the Windows 10 OS on my laptop and from created Acronis bootable media with the 2 drives connected via USB3. The clone seems to go fine, but the SSD won't boot. The original spinner is UEFI and the bios on the laptop remains UEFI. Any idea what I'm missing?
Thanks

I'll check it tomorrow. I just don't understand how it would be that changes need to be made if it is a "Clone" of the existing drive.

It is not an issue with your drive but that of the boot process of your computer.

I checked it yesterday and it is set to HDD1. it's actually the only option.

With UEFI your boot entry in the bios is Windows Boot Manager not the disk itself. Look at the boot order list again and locate the Windows entry and make it first in the boot order. This will fix your problem.

Mystery solved. Turns out the brand new Gigabyte SSD was defective. Too bad it took me so long to figure it out but I'm glad it's over.
