Ongoing Incremental Backups with no Full backup
First of all apologies, I can't upload images into this post for some reason.
I have my backup (to a NAS) set to create a full backup after 5 incrementals and to store no more than 3 chains.
Hopefully, the settings page is visible here :-
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AkUZayJmsaCe1RgbmvfGnAkOKAdv?e=66RwGn
Checking this week, the backup is on increment 16!
Image of the NAS directory is below :-

Does anyone have any ideas of why this is happening?
I have checked the log file using the viewer and there is nothing odd there as far as I can see :-

Thanks Steve (truly a legend!)
Yes, I have changed the settings, but only a while back when I spotted that the full backup ws not taking place.
The issues with some of the backups was caused by network timeouts.
When you say "do some pruning" what do you mean? It would be great to consolidate some of these files if they are to become an old backup version, but I don't know how to do that in 2018 version. I remember there was a "consolidate" option in previous versions (showing my age!).
Thanks again for the help. I will post again if things work out.

Jon, the old consolidate feature was dropped back around ATI 2014 because it didn't really offer much benefit over the option of just creating a new full backup image.
By pruning, I simply mean manually deleting the unwanted older version chains via Explorer to free up the space on your NAS to store new ones. If the task for those files is no longer shown in the ATI GUI there isn't any issue with deleting files via Explorer (unless Acronis Active Protection is active and protecting files but this applies mainly to local drives / external drives directly connected).

OK. Three weeks in and its safe to say this hasn't worked. The cloned backup is running every week, but instead of creating endless incremental backups is now creating full backups every week and filling my entire NAS drive. My next plan is to create a brand new backup plan and see whether that works. Surely this shouldn't be this hard :(

Jon, the screen image is still showing potential network connection issues with the creation of file names ending 1-2.tib.
Try making a new backup task to see if you can get back to having your incremental backups working again, but keep an eye on the logs for your backups to see what these are saying?

OK. New backup created yesterday and the first scheduled backup has created an incremental, so fingers crossed I am back on track.
Thanks for the help Steve
