Recovering Backup Files From Older Versions

Thread needs solution

I am pleased to say, I have successfully used TI18 to recover data backup files created in TI11

TI18 Didn't find the files on my external HDD automatically, I had to manually add them.

Thanks for the feedback Ant.  I suspect one reason why ATI 2018 would not automatically find your ATI 11 backup files is that they used a different file naming system, but glad to hear you were able to recover data from them.

Hi Steve, just for clarity, the 'file naming system' you refer to, is this different to the 'file extension type'...ie: (.tib) ? I imagine so, but just wanted to check with a more advanced program user.

Cheers

Ant, the later versions of ATI introduced the naming convention of using _full_b1_s1_v1.tib ending for file names whereas earlier versions were just [any_name].tib with no indication of the type of backup created or any relationship to other files in the same version chain etc.

Ah yes, I noticed that.
