Resolution issue - linux command line

Thread needs solution

Hi Folks,

I am trying to do an image backup from a linux OS using Acronis Truimage, I booted the PC and Tru image loaded but when i selected a further step in the acronys, to start with the image process, i had a black screen that the video signal cannot be showed at the screen, maximum resolution is 1024x1024. So, I am trying to change the screen resolution from linux command line before loading the Acronys Tru image, using the command, xrandr- g but it is not accepted in my linux machine knowing that its a very old linux which is not Ubunto.

The question is how can i overcome this resolution issue, or is there another suitable backup tool for Linux machines better than TruImage?

Thank you

kalyan, welcome to these User Forums.

You have not said which version of ATI you are using here, so the assumption is that you have ATI 2018 based on where this topic was created in the forums.

See the ATI 2018 User Guide: Selecting video mode when booting from the rescue media whic describes how to override the default video mode settings.  See other sections of the same part of the user guide for how to create media that will ask you to select the video mode by having vga=ask as a parameter when the media is created.
