Swap to UEFI/GPT

Thread needs solution

I have my new PC back and it is an BIOS/MBR setup, it is running perfectly. Is there any advantage to converting it to an UEFI/GPT? Or is it a difficult process for not much improvement. How would it affect TI 2018?

Peter, as far as I understand, the main benefits of switching to UEFI / GPT from your Legacy/MBR setup would be some increase in security offered by UEFI (assuming you also enable Secure Boot) plus the ability to have more than 4 Primary partitions on your disk drive.

ATI can migrate from Legacy/MBR to UEFI/GPT by doing either a Backup/Recovery or Cloning as covered in the ATI User Guide which has a Migration section covering the various scenarios from which this can happen.  In practical terms, booting the ATI Rescue Media in UEFI mode and doing a recovery will cause the migration to be actioned.

ATI itself can work with both Legacy and UEFI modes of operations so there should be no affect of such a change.

Thank you Steve for your input. It appears to me that for very little advantage I am fixing something does not need to be fixed.
