Using Linux Acronis rescue disk for Win 10 and cloning operation

Thread needs solution

After multiple failed attempts to create a Win based rescue disk from ATI 2018, I tried the Linux version and it completed successfully. It also boots to the ATI menu. Any reason I can't use it in place of the Win version and use it to clone the OS hard drive?

Interestingly, I just made another attempt at creating the Win based bootable USB and it was successful. The only thing that changed is that a bootable Win DVD was successfully created as a test before this last attempt. Maybe that corrected something on the Win 10 side.

The main reason not to use the Linux recovery media is the absence of support for some devices. This is the case for raid controllers and some USB controllers for which only proprietary drivers are available. In your case you apparently did not need any proprietary drivers for which there is not a Linux alternative.

So if the Linux recovery media works with your system then by all means use it.
